Here's a sampling of photos from Esprit over
the years to give you a better idea of what to expect, some of the things
that happen, and what the setting is like.
Please note that Esprit does have a photo policy
to protect the privacy of our attendees.
|
Immediately upon your arrival,
you will receive a registration package that includes welcome letters,
a schedule, a resource guide for Port Angeles, other helpful information,
and a badge.

The long drive is behind them and a week of fun
awaits. On the first day of Esprit 2004, Michelle, Michelle,
and Penny are beaming with big, happy smiles!

Tuesday is the traditional Esprit
activity day. Among the activities is a ferry ride to Victoria for
high tea at the Empress Hotel and sightseeing. Several ladies enjoy
the sights of Victoria BC from a horse-drawn carriage on a beautiful
Spring day following high tea.

Volunteers are busy at work on the elaborate sets
in the Red Lion ballroom for the Roman Holiday Wednesday party in
2002.

The chefs at the Red Lion prepare
pasta-to-order during the Roman Holiday Wednesday party. In the
background you can see some of the decor, including Venus de Milo-like
mannequins dressed in elegant corsets.

Over the course of your stay, you will collect a
variety of other items, including product samples, handouts from
classes, and promotional materials provided by vendors.

The ladies enjoy an elegant and
leisurely evening of French cuisine in the atrium of the C'est si
Bon restaurant. Dress as elegantly as you wish and study up on your
wines!

The Port Angeles Light Opera Association singers
sing and dance a medley of popular and Broadway show tunes during
one of the meals at the Elks Lodge.

The attendees in this fashion show
at the Red Lion take the stage for one last curtain call. Formalwear
and daywear have been the themes for recent shows and Esprit
has enjoyed the support of local businesses such as Fashion Bug
and Just 'n Love who loan clothing items selected by the models
themselves.

The Talent Show comes to an exciting finale at the
spacious and historic Elks Lodge. The crowd comes to its feet as
everyone sings the Pointer Sisters' "We Are Family."
|
|
|
The graduation ceremony in the
Elks Lodge ballroom ends with a group photo of all of the first-time
attendees, including the Significant Others. Immediately after the
ceremony, the floor is cleared for an evening of dancing and celebrating.

The Nasty Habits, an all-TG band, provide an evening
of rocking 80's dance music for the Saturday evening graduation
dances.

Esprit
reaches around the globe! Big Sister Fannie poses with her flock
of little sisters (Jenny, Rochelle, and Melissa) who came all the
way from New Zealand to enjoy Esprit.

Karen Brown (accessories/wardrobe presenter and
jewelry vendor) and our official Esprit photographer Stephanie
Mitchell enjoy the Saturday party.

Many of you will be lucky enough
to enjoy ferry rides across Puget Sound as you travel to and from
Port Angeles and Seattle.

A yearbook will be mailed to you that contains information
on presenters and vendors, photographs from throughout the week,
and stories and thoughts written by you. As with any yearbook, you
can choose to include a photo of you, a brief message, and information
on how others can contact you. Most attendees also collect stacks
of friendship cards and photographs.

Esprit respects the need of
its attendees for confidentiality but recognizes that at an event
such as this many photographs will be taken.
Attendees who do not wish to be photographed
must get a "no photos" sticker from the registration desk when they
register and attach it to their ID badge so that it will be visible
to prospective photographers. However, this in itself is not a guarantee
that other attendees will not photograph them.
If you are wearing a sticker, official
Esprit photographers will respect your wishes. Your photo
will not appear in any Esprit-produced material. If you are
not wearing a sticker, your photo may appear in Esprit-related
publications such as the Yearbook (distributed to Esprit
attendees only) and in slide shows presented during Esprit.
If you are comfortable with your
likeness appearing in media accessible to the public, such as news
releases, website articles, or in Esprit promotional material,
release forms are available from the registration desk.
Esprit asks that attendees
also respect the wishes of their fellow attendees, but cannot enforce
this policy upon them. Please consider those appearing in the background
of your photos as well as your subjects.
At events where the public is invited,
signs will be posted asking that no photos at all be taken except
by Esprit photographers and attendees. Again, this is only
a request as it cannot be enforced.
